Umfolozi Game Reserve

As we entered the camp we saw the most beautiful elephants just tip toeing through the grass.  What a fantastic sight.

After only 1/2 hour at the the camp we set off for our first game ride.  We saw zebra, elephant, giraffe, some boys saw a lion and some a pack of wild dogs take down an impala.  We also saw wilerbeast and water buffalo.

The big 5 - 3 down and 2 to go.
Dinner that night was a barb prepared with love by our Bundu Basher representatives and helped by the odd hyena.  So ugly - they really give me the willies.

Next day we were up with the African Broadbills.  Our ride was from 5.30 am.  We saw more giraffe, zebra and rhino but still no elusive cats.

Our evening ride was pretty much the same, animal wise, except that just as the sun was setting we were using our spot lights and there in front of us was this humungus elephant.  He was on a mission and woe betide anyone who stood in his way.  I'm afraid to say our driver was a bit of a "lady driver" - to get out of the way she kept reversing the jeep into thorny bushes.  It was so exciting and eventually she went off piste just to get away from the elephant.  Back to the camp for a large drink!

Another barbq together with the boys and hyenas.  An early night was had by all - firstly because the poet goes off at 10pm and secondly - we had our 3rd match the following morning.
