What a beautify day - 29 degrees
Coach journey through the Botanical Gardens and most expensive part of Cape Town - Bishops's Park-even Lady Di was about to purchase a property here.
Hout Bay, Chapman Peak (the first British man to set foot in South Africa) and that took us down to Cape Point - through Scarborough where English town got its name!
Suddenly a cluster of baboons on the roadside - our tour guide said watch out for the alpha male whereby Charlie D said where is the Alpha Romeo! Muppet tshirt for Charlie I think.
Made our way down to Cape Point where the boys walked up a steep hill to the lighthouse point to the most southerly point of Africa. Then after a quick lunch off to the most south westerly point of Africa.
We learnt about a Great Dane called Just Nuisance. Born before WW2 he was instrumental in guiding sailors from Simon's Town to Cape Town on the train. After a few drinks only the dog was able to escort the sailors home. The train company refused him passage as he was so large so the Admiral made Just Nuisance an able seaman and he then went on parade but was hit by a car and died with full military honours.
Then on to see the penguins and later Seal Island and also a quick paddle in the ocean. Back to the the hotel by 6.30 - a quick shower and change then out for dinner,
Tomorrow will be an early start as we leave for Robben Island at 8.15. We also have our second match. This will only be 1 rugby match and 1 soccer match. We are looking forward to meeting up with Zain's parents and also the Nygates will be joining us.
